LANDMARK INTERNATIONAL EVENTS

Sadbhavana, a mission to spread brotherhood, peace, and harmony, was envisioned by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
Shri Narendra Modi Ji, who has pioneered the role of a global goodwill ambassador, began the journey of Sadbhavana in his home state of Gujarat almost a decade ago to promote the values of unity and social harmony.

Drawing inspiration from our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision, 'Sadbhavana: A Gesture of Goodwill’ was conceptualized. The journey of Sadbhavana began in the heart of the national capital of India on 29th April, 2022.

With an inherent understanding of the cardinality in harmony for collective national progress, he reached out to the global Sikh community and brought together more than 140 eminent and highly accomplished Sikhs from six continents who, as a contingent of harmony, met the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji at his residence and offered the spirit of Sadbhavana to his eminence as an expression of goodwill for his contribution to the Sikh community through his humble endeavors.

Soon after taking over as Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s appreciation and affection for the Sikh community translated into action with his government, taking several landmark decisions, like the opening of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, providing long-pending justice to the 1984 riot victims, and exempting GST on langar inputs at Gurudwaras, among others. All such decisions have earned the respect and appreciation of Sikhs across the globe.

This book is an attempt to document Shri Modi’s earnest efforts at upholding the Sikhs’ right to protect their historical sites and places of worship in India and abroad and rolling out major developmental projects for enabling Punjab, the land of Sikh Gurus, to excel as an economically prosperous and politically vigorous state so as to bring it back at the helm of India’s glorious image on the world map.

The book was released by Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri JP Nadda and the then Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Smriti Irani, in New Delhi.

Sadbhavana - A Gesture of Goodwill event in Varanasi witnessed the grand synthesis of cultures and religions as more than 450 distinguished guests, comprising prominent religious leaders from the Sikh and Hindu communities, educationists, sportspersons, scientists, philanthropists, peace activists, lawmakers, and policymakers, graced the occasion.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Yogi Adityanath, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Leaders from different sects of Sikhism, including Nirmala Sect, Udasi Sect, Kabir Panth Sect, and Nanaksar Sect, joined us as we expressed profound gratitude towards Shri Narendra Modi Ji for his dedicated service to the nation.

On this occasion, we also released two books, namely "Heartfelt-The Legacy of Faith" and "Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery", which showcase the success story and path-breaking initiatives of Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

To spread the profound and inspirational teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who always emphasized universal brotherhood and selfless service, we organised Gurmat Samagam at Gurudwara Sri Lakhpat Sahib in Kutch district, Gujarat, in December 2022. The holy place, Lakhpat, was visited by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji during his second and fourth missionary journeys - Udasis and still houses relics like Guru’s Khadavas and a carved wooden Palki.

Today, the glory and grandeur of historic Gurudwara Sri Lakhpat Sahib are intact due to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s concerted efforts for the restoration of this sacred place.

Sikh scholars and thousands of devotees gathered for Gurmat Samagam at this holy place. During the magnificent shabad rendition, the congregation expressed their heartfelt admiration and sincere gratitude towards Shri Narendra Modi Ji for taking major initiatives for the honour and welfare of the Sikh community. On the occasion, the book titled "Heartfelt | The Legacy of Faith" showcasing his incredible work for the Sikh community, was distributed among the devotees.

With a vision of creating an inclusive and egalitarian society embracing all religions, we organized a first-of-its-kind "All India Minority Conclave: Role of Minorities in Amrit Kaal" in Chandigarh, bringing together prominent religious leaders from all faiths, representatives of the government, renowned actors, and acclaimed academicians from across the nation. This conclave witnessed extensive deliberations to collaborate and further reinforce the shared values of solidarity, peaceful coexistence, and respect for all religions to build a new India.

Reflecting the true essence of unity in diversity in India, an interfaith delegation visited Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Ajmer and Brahma Temple in Pushkar, Rajasthan, to spread the message of communal harmony and peace and to strengthen the bonds of unity and affinity among people of different religious communities in the country. The interfaith delegation performed Ziyarat at Ajmer Sharif Dargah and offered prayers at Brahma Temple for the well-being of the nation.
