India’s Biggest-Ever Diplomatic Conclave

New Delhi

Working towards the vision of making India a ‘Knowledge Superpower’, we brought together 126 nations in the first-of-its-kind Diplomatic Conclave to further the ethos of internationalization of higher education. This was India’s biggest ever Diplomatic Conclave attended by 172 diplomats from 126 countries of the six continents in the heart of India—New Delhi. This conclave deliberated upon collective participation on issues like Academic Mobility, Financing, Data Sharing & Knowledge Production, Future HE Roadmaps, Instructional Design, Sustainability, and Inclusion.

The first-of-its-kind two-day Gujarat Education Symposium was organized by Chandigarh University on the theme ‘Building World-Class Universities with a Thrust on Quality Education, National and Global Rankings’ at the Statue of Unity, Gujarat. The event brought together more than 240 education stakeholders of the state and QS ranking experts to pave the way for discussions on an outcome-oriented approach for synchronizing curriculum with the Global Ranking Framework and building World-Class Universities in Gujarat.

Following the signing of the MoU, GARIMA (Gujarat Accreditation and Ranking Institute Mechanism and Arrangement) was established by Chandigarh University in collaboration with the State Government of Gujarat.

The Garima cell was inaugurated on July 7, 2022 in Ahmedabad in the esteemed presence of Shri Bhupendra Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Cabinet Ministers of Gujarat, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University, and other distinguished dignitaries. The headquarters of the Cell is at IITE (Indian Institute of Teachers Education), Gandhinagar.

Uttar Pradesh is a hub of 82 universities and 8985 institutions. An MoU was signed between Chandigarh University, NID Foundation and the State Government of Uttar Pradesh to take forward the vision of Shri Narendra Modi Ji to transform Indian Universities into world-class educational institutions. The MoU was signed in the august presence of the Hon’ble Governor Smt Anandiben Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, and the Council of Ministers.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with the NID Foundation organized a one of-its-kind Symposium on "Building World-Class Universities with a thrust on Quality Education, National and Global Rankings" on 20th July, 2022 in the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Governor Smt Anandiben Patel at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow.

Shri Yogendra Upadhyay, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Higher Education in Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Rajni Tiwari, Hon’ble State Minister of Higher Education, Shri Mahesh Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary to Hon’ble Governor, Shri. S.P. Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary Principal to Hon’ble Chief Minister, and Smt. Monika S Garg, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, took part in the deliberations at the symposium. The day-long symposium brought together more than 200 education stakeholders from the state and QS ranking experts. Three sessions at the symposium witnessed enriching discussions that revolved around sharing knowledge and expertise to elevate the national and international rankings of institutions of higher education in Uttar Pradesh.

The establishment of UPCRAM unfolded a new dawn of transformation for higher education in Uttar Pradesh. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor Smt Anandiben Patel. This Centre is a major initiative to move forward towards achieving the major milestones of making quality education a norm, an efficient mechanism to assess student performance, and elevating institutional standards so as to achieve better accreditations and rankings. UPCRAM is playing a crucial role in assessing and maintaining the quality of learning and paving the way to ensuring optimal infrastructural requirements that supplement the achievement of the underlying goal of building world-class universities in Uttar Pradesh.

Global Education Summit

Building on the overarching theme of the G20 Summit “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: One Earth, One Family, One Future", we hosted the “Global Education Summit” for creating a resilient, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable future through education.

More than 40 International Universities from 30 countries, including the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, and many others, participated in the summit.

The event saw prominent figures in attendance, such as (Dr) Md Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of Daffodil International University; Prof. Abhay Purohit, President of the Council of Architecture; Prof. Sibrandes Poppema, President of Sunway University, Malaysia; and Anju Ranjan, Deputy Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

AIM: Academia Industry Interface Meet

Bengaluru

To build a greater synergy between industry and academia for promoting skilling and creating transformative learning experiences, Chandigarh University organized "AIM: Academia-Industry Interface Meet" in Bengaluru, India’s tech hub. This event brought together Industry Leaders, Acclaimed Academicians, Scholars, Researchers and other key stakeholders to deliberate upon pressing challenges and strategies to create a more sustainable model of learning and build a future-ready, skills-based workforce.

International Conference on India: The Voice of the Global South

Chandigarh

Building on the momentum of India’s remarkable G20 presidency and construing the geopolitical dynamics of Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s pioneering leadership in the Global South, we hosted an International Conference “India: The Voice of the Global South” which saw the convergence of more than 50 globally acclaimed academicians and scholars from more than 40 top-ranked International Universities and over 30 countries.

EVOKE 2023- National Youth Summit

Chandigarh

Chandigarh University organized the National Youth Summit 'Evoke-2023' on the occasion of National Youth Day, which marks the 160th birth anniversary of philosopher and social reformer Swami Vivekananda. On the occasion, distinguished personalities from different fields such as politics, media, entertainment, and sports shared their views and opinions on the theme ‘Challenges and Prospects for Indian Youth in Amrit Kaal’.

Shri Dushyant Chautala, the then Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Indian Wrestler Sangram Singh, Indian Film Director & Producer Madhur Bhandarkar; News18 Deputy Manager Editor Sumit Awasthi, Dainik Jagran Political Editor Smriti Rastogi; were honoured guests. With learning, creativity, culture, and passion at its heart, EVOKE 2023 provided an ideal platform for the youth to voice their opinions on key challenges, hopes, and aspirations, besides unlocking their potential and skills.

International Law Conference: Accelerating Global Progress towards Sustainable Development

Building on our longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability, Chandigarh University organized an International Conference on "Environmental Diversity & Environmental Jurisprudence: National and International Perspective", which saw the convergence of Chief Justices, Judges, and other dignitaries from 20 nations to deliberate upon global environmental challenges and critically analyse legal framework to accelerate global progress towards sustainable development. The conference was inaugurated by Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, the then Hon'ble Vice President of India.
