Satnam Singh Sandhu was born in Cheema, Tarn Taran, Punjab, into a humble farming family. His father, Pipal Singh, and mother, Kashmir Kaur, nurtured in him the values of hard work and integrity, while his grandfather, a freedom fighter, inspired perseverance, courage, and resilience.
He grew up in Ferozepur, Punjab, in a modest farming household. Despite limited access to quality education, he remained determined and committed to his studies. During his school and college days, he actively assisted his father in agricultural work, which instilled in him a deep connection with his motherland.
He completed his matriculation in Makhu (Ferozepur) and went on to graduate from Guru Nanak College, Moga, Punjab, overcoming early hardships and developing the resilience and discipline that would shape his future.
He married Damandeep Kaur. The couple was later blessed with two sons, Deep Inder Singh Sandhu and Jai Inder Singh Sandhu.
Founded Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, Mohali, as Founder Chairman, marking his entry into the education sector and the beginning of a transformative journey in higher education.
